The largest shopping centers are Haaglanden MegaStores and Leyweg shopping center. The Haagse Markt is the largest permanent outdoor market in Europe. The Hague is very rich in green for a city. Scattered throughout the city are larger and smaller parks, such as the Palace Garden, Wapendal, the Westbroek Park, the Zuiderpark, the Bosjes van Pex, Madestein, the Sint Hubertus Park and the Uithof. There are several old estates and forests, partly a stone's throw from the center: the 120-hectare Hague Forest and  Arendsdorp, both dating from the 17th century.

Most of the other estates are on the outskirts of the city. These include Bloemendaal, Clingendael, Duindigt, Duinweide, Meer & Bos, Marlot, Ockenburgh, Oostduin, Oosterbeek, Reigersbergen and Sorghvliet. The Scheveningse Bosjes and the Nieuwe Scheveningse Bos are located between The Hague and Scheveningen.

The Hague is the largest Dutch city on the North Sea and has a coastline of eleven kilometers. The city has two seaside resorts: Scheveningen and Kijkduin.

Culture in The Hague
The Hague is a city with a lot of history. There are many monuments, monumental buildings and commemorative monuments, such as: the Binnenhof, the Kurhaus, Noordeinde Palace, the Ridderzaal and the Vredespaleis. There are also various museums in The Hague, for example: Escher in Het Paleis, the Gevangenpoort, the Mauritshuis and the Kunstmuseum The Hague. For a day trip you can also visit: Madurodam, the Museon, Sea Life, Family park Drievliet or the Omniversum.

Schools in The Hague
There are many primary and secondary schools that provide education at the levels of pre-vocational secondary education up to and including gymnasium. Examples of this are the Christian College De Populier, the Segbroek College, the Dalton The Hague and the Zandvliet College. The Hague has two independent gymnasia: the Gymnasium Haganum and the Christian Gymnasium Sorghvliet.

For secondary vocational education, The Hague has the ROC Mondriaan. For higher vocational education there is The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Inholland University of Applied Sciences The Hague and Hotel School The Hague. The Hague is also home to one of the Netherlands' largest and most prominent institutes in the field of art education, namely the Hague University of Applied Sciences for the Visual Arts, Music and Dance. This consists of the Royal Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Arts.

The Hague also has a number of Dutch schools where international education is provided. For example, the Haagsche Schoolvereeniging (primary education), the International School of The Hague (primary and secondary education) and some foreign schools: the British School in the Netherlands (primary education) and the American School of The Hague (primary and secondary education).
